To embody alchemy is to bring into physical manifestation the transformation of pain and discord into sparks of light that can guide us forward through the mystery of our lives in these times. It is a profound process of healing and growth, where inner challenges are not just endured but transmuted into sources of strength and clarity. At SomaRoot Center for Embodied Arts, we honor this journey by supporting individuals in expressing, releasing, and reshaping their experiences into embodied wisdom and vibrant presence.

As the Founder and Creative Director of SomaRoot Center for Embodied Arts, I hold the practice of alchemy—transforming pain and experience into wisdom—at the heart of my work and vision. My intention is to create a healing space that honors the body’s innate intelligence and capacity for transformation.

I believe the soma, or living body, is central to all healing. Within it lives a vast landscape of sensations, emotions, instinctive responses, and intuitive movements, as well as the imprints of our past, including trauma. When we listen deeply to the soma, we open the door to profound healing and personal growth.

Through years of navigating pain, shame, and the weight of hiding, I learned that true healing begins in the practice of forgiveness—of myself, of others, and of the stories that kept me small. As a fat, queer, gender non-conforming person who came out later in life, I know the pain of oppression and the exhausting act of hiding just to belong. Through my own unmasking, I’ve learned to transform both internal wounds and the limiting stories we carry, and I now stand alongside others as they unmask their truths and live openly in their authenticity.

A deep connection to nature and the magic of the wild world guides my work. Mentors and teachers have grounded me in the rhythms of natural cycles, wisdom I integrate into the SomaRoot Center for Embodied Arts. Here, healing is rooted in earth’s patterns and supported through somatics, counseling, and expressive arts. My approach honors Indigenous traditions from South America and Asia—passed down through apprenticeships and training—woven together with Western science, neurophysiology, and somatic movement practices.

I believe that by aligning with the creative power of change, transformation becomes not only possible but accessible. Tapping into these resources has allowed me to overcome challenges and cultivate a deeper connection with body, spirit, and community. With clients, I support reconnection to parts of the self lost to trauma, stress, or life transitions. Together, we create personalized practices that foster body-mind balance, expand emotional regulation, and transform habits that limit growth. Whether working with individuals or groups, I bring curiosity, creativity, and care to make healing a courageous, playful, and embodied experience.
