At SomaRoot Center for Embodied Arts, healing is understood as a deeply personal and holistic journey. Our approach integrates somatic practices, counseling, massage, acupressure, and expressive arts to support the whole self—mind, body, and spirit. Rooted in a commitment to radical healing and inclusivity, especially within queer communities, we create a safe and affirming space where individuals can reconnect with their bodies, process trauma, and cultivate resilience. Every modality we offer is designed to empower clients to access their inner wisdom and foster lasting transformation through embodiment and creative expression.
Mission Statement
SomaRoot Center is a visionary integrative health and arts initiative dedicated to embodied healing, expressive vitality, and legacy-rooted care. Through somatic therapy, trauma-informed mental health services, and interdisciplinary arts-based programs, we support individuals and communities in cultivating nervous system regulation, relational transformation, and creative emergence. We are creating a community place where embodied, artistic, experimental, and expressive services are offered to realize health, well-being and belonging and to strengthen our capacities for relational connectivity.
Vision Statement
We envision a world where healing is embodied, collaborative, and culturally responsive. Our work supports radical embodiment through mental health services and the creation of regenerative care systems grounded in somatic intelligence, expressive arts, and ancestral wisdom — systems that foster agency, integrity, and connection across generations. We acknowledge and recognize the impact of societal and systemic dis-ease that often manifests in individuals. We go beyond the approaches that continue to isolate and pathologize the individual, and we support the growing collective paradigms that are generative and relational, modeling integrative wellness for community members and practitioners alike.
Guiding Philosophy
SomaRoot: Center is a practitioner-led, community-centered space dedicated to trauma-informed, creative, and somatic approaches to healing. Our ecosystem values mutual care, relational accountability, and cultural responsiveness. We are a living, breathing collective, rooted in shared purpose and embodied presence, grounded in the belief that the body remains wise. We believe in a relational culture that emerges based on mutual benefit and mutual respect, and we practice by sharing resources and responsibility, together discovering methods that rebuild the commons and help us pattern new cultural norms of healing.
We are committed to providing affirming and accessible services for all bodies, for queer, trans and non-binary folks, and for those who are systemically disempowered. Many of our practitioners identify as being part of the queer, trans and non-binary communities.
